»NACHGEFORSCHT – Die Liveschalte ins Labor« (available only in German) is all about health research and reports on cardiovascular diseases, cancer or Alzheimer's disease. Employees give an insight into how they are working together in Dortmund to improve the prevention, early diagnosis and therapy of common and rare diseases.
Episode 1 - Endometriosis: It's the cause that matters!
According to the World Health Organization, about 190 million women worldwide suffer from endometriosis. For some women, the diagnosis of this chronic disease resembles an odyssey and can even take up to ten years. That is why ISAS scientist Dr. Brenda Krishnacoumar wants to develop an early test that delivers results before any symptoms appear. Thus, she not only wants to help women undergoing therapy, but also buy them more time. On the first episode of »NACHGEFORSCHT – Die Liveschalte ins Labor«, the biologist explains to Cheyenne Peters from ISAS' Communications team how an idea becomes a research project, and why the cause of endometriosis is the most important factor for curing the women's disease.
