Researchers in the Standardisation research group are working towards standardising and accrediting the analytical procedures developed at the Institute, such as those for analysing the thrombocyte proteome, and bringing them to market maturity. The scientists are currently preparing for the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle’s (German Accreditation Body’s) accreditation of the test laboratory according to the ISO 17025 standard.
The researchers are working towards applying Omics technologies to patient samples in research studies in order to identify biomarkers for individual risk assessments and for the prevention of cardiovascular events (bleeding disorders, strokes, heart attacks or venous thrombosis).
The standardisation, validation and accreditation of processes, staff, methods and equipment allow the methods developed at ISAS – such as mass spectrometry methods – to be made available in the highest quality to partners in research and clinical work for practical application. In this context, the research group acts as a link between the research work at the institute, which is more of a basic nature, and the demands placed on new technologies, for example in clinical usage.
