Prof Dr Stefanie Kampmeier is Head of the Institute for Hygiene and Microbiology at the University Hospital of Würzburg. Her research interests include the molecular epidemiology, transmission dynamics, risk assessment strategies and control measures of MDRE in hospital settings. In this context, she concentrates on the identification of pathogen-specific as well as patient- and environment-associated factors in order to establish an individualized, risk-adapted medicine for MDRE infection prevention. This topic will also be the subject of her presentation ‘Infection prevention of multidrug-resistant enterococci - from clinical epidemiology to pathogenesis’ at the ISAS colloquium on June 26.
