New director for Biomedical Research at ISAS Dortmund

ISAS has a new director: From February 01, Professor Kristina Lorenz will be the head of the Biomedical Research department in Dortmund. Kristina Lorenz was a professor in Würzburg before and has now accepted a joint professorship offered by the University of Duisburg-Essen and by ISAS. She is a pharmacist and is mainly interested in the molecular mechanisms of cardiac insufficiency, a topic that ideally complements the existing life science and biomedical research topics at our institute.

Kristina Lorenz will give an inaugural lecture in Dortmund on February 05 and is also currently working on several side events of a large conference called German Pharm-Tox Summit that will take place at the end of February and early March. One of these events is a course in “Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology” for an advanced training for pharmacological experts DGP. Kristina Lorenz is also one of the initiators of the “Forum Young Science”, a group of young scientists that is planning a meeting during the conference on March 01 and 02.

During the next weeks and months, our new director will establish and extend her department and give new impetus to ISAS research. We look forward to working with Professor Lorenz and sincerely welcome her to Dortmund!
