On 24 June, the Long Night of Sciences took place in Berlin. This year, ISAS for the first time opened its own doors at the Schwarzschildstraße for visitors.

Researchers find new gene for hereditary muscle weakness

Together with colleagues from Newcastle and Munich, ISAS researchers have identified a gene that might be responsible for a muscle disease (congenital muscle dystrophy, CMD). The results of this work have recently been published in the „American Journal for Human Genetics“ (online).

New insights into platelet activation

In a new study in the journal "Blood", ISAS scientists again looked into the process of platelet activation. This time they focused on the dynamic signalling cascades that take place during the first seconds after activation.

After the Falling Walls Conference, the DFG organised a visit to Berlin Adlershof for some of the participants on 10 November. Two of the groups visited ISAS Berlin.
