Process for treating and diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease
- Early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease
- New ways of developing treatments
- Detection of special autoantibodies
Alzheimer’s disease is currently only diagnosable once it is in the symptomatic stage, i.e. at a time when the neuronal damage has progressed quite far. The existing treatment options are as yet hardly suitable for slowing down the progress of the disease or even fight it. The invention is aimed at enabling an early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease by detecting specific autoantibodies that trigger the pathology of this illness.
One possible application for this invention is the development of new diagnostics and new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease.
