Chemist Dr Günter Prescher has been associated with ISAS for many years: He represented the former Degussa AG (now Evonik) in the General Assembly since 1993. From 1996, he was first a member and later also chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board. In 2001, during a difficult period for ISAS, Dr Prescher took over the chairmanship of the then ISAS supporting association (Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Spektrochemie und Angewandten Spektroskopie), which he held until 2005. In 2013, the General Assembly appointed Dr Prescher an ISAS honorary member, in particular also because of his contributions and his commitment to the continued existence of ISAS.
