New DFG-funded project for the Miniaturisation group
Jonathan West, the “Miniaturisation for the Life Sciences” group leader, has been granted funding for a new research project called “Advanced cell patterning and culture assays”. The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft is going to fund the two-year project with €165,000.
Poster Award for young ISAS scientist
Heike Menne from the “Miniaturisation for the Life Sciences” group has won the Biocartis Best Poster Award at the NanoBioTech conference in Montreux (Switzerland) in November. The poster has the title „A micropatterning approach for the production of uniform tumour spheroids“, and describes a new technique for the mass production of uniformly sized spherical tumour models for high-throughput drug screening. The group has won the prestigious award for the second time in a row: Last year, Jean-Philippe Frimat won the award with his poster „Directed organization of cellular patterns“.
ISAS at Bio 2009 in Atlanta
ISAS presents itself at Bio 2009, as one of the exhibitors of the german pavillon. The BIO exhibition is the largest gathering of biotechnology exhibitors in history, encompassing more than 1,700 companies, organizations, and institutions representing every aspect of the biotechnology industry.
