Research Area / Interests
- Characterization of surfaces interfaces of solids and nanostructures, organic molecules on surfaces
- Development and application of optical spectroscopy methods for interfaces analysis
- translation of spectral fingerprints into a microscopic picture, i.e. underlying physical excitations
- Optical chacterization techniques:
- Reflection Anisotropy Spectroscopy (RAS) in the NIR to VUV spectral range
- Spectral Ellipsometry in the MIR to VUV spectral range (IR and VUVEllipsometer available at the BESSY synchrotron)
- Raman Spectroscopy
- Addtional "standard" surface analytical tools:
- Synchrotron based photoemission spectroscopy (XPS and UPS)
- Auger electron spectroscopy (AES)
- Scanning tunnelling Microscopy (STM)
