Properties of organic / inorganic Interfaces

The combination of organic molecules and inorganic semiconductor surfaces is considered a key issue for future developments in the field of advanced electronic devices and sensors with a possible impact in many different research areas such as biotechnology, nanoelectronics, high density data storage and medical diagnostics. However, the performance and the possible range of applications for the hybrid systems crucially depend on the bonding site of the molecules on the semiconductor surfaces.

The objective of this project is to elucidate the interaction between small and medium size organic molecules and semiconductor surfaces.
