Interface Spectroscopy

Research activity of the interface spectroscopy group in the Berlin department of ISAS focuses on optical spectroscopy at the interface of fundamental research and application. Both the development of new and the optimization of existing spectroscopic techniques, methods and instruments as well as their application in material and interface analysis are central areas of work. Spectrometric devices and methods as well as evaluation algorithms are developed, including individual components like spectrometers, radiation sources or measuring sensors.
Close regional cooperations exist with the TU Berlin, the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin (HZB), the Federal Institute for Material Research and Testing (BAM), and with different companies situated on the WISTA campus Adlershof.
The contributions of the Berlin department concerning the stated field of activity are demonstrated by the solution of current analytical questions. The individual projects cover the whole spectrum of optical frequencies from the deep UV to the mid IR with the objective of gaining detailed information of the samples to be analysed.
